In addition to maintaining a busy performing schedule, I have a sizeable teaching studio with students of varying ages and abilities, ranging from age 6 to adults, from beginners to diploma levels. I currently teach with the Music in Secondary Schools Trust (MiSST), where I work with pupils from Year 7 through to Sixth Form in one-to-one and small-group settings. I also teach at the Royal Arsenal School of Music, offering cello and piano lessons to children and adults alike. Alongside this, I run a private studio where I support students preparing for ABRSM exams and school auditions, as well as those learning simply for the joy of playing.
I believe learning the cello can enrich a student’s life far beyond music itself. Through cello playing, pupils develop confidence, focus, teamwork, discipline, and strategies for managing stress — all qualities that benefit them well beyond the practice room. In my teaching, I aim to help each student discover their individual strengths while also addressing areas that need more attention. My approach is both supportive and challenging, building musical ability and independence in equal measure. Above all, I hope to nurture curiosity, creativity, and a genuine love for music.
